M.A.C Vegas Volt Dupe

After purchasing M.A.C Vegas Volt lipstick I thought it reminded me of a similar lipstick that I already had in my collection and after doing a swatch the two lipstick colours together looked very similar. The lipstick in question is the Rimmel lipstick in the shade Fire Cracker.

Swatch of the two lipsticks. M.A.C Vegas Volt on the top, Rimmel Fire Cracker on the bottom.

On closer inspection Vegas Volt has more of an orange undertone to it whereas Fire Cracker has a deep pink tone to it, together they look quite similar. M.A.C lipsticks here in Australia retail for $36, Rimmel lipsticks retail for $9.95

How I Relax My Hair.

Every 3-4 months I relax my hair and basically it relaxes my curly roots and makes them straight. The relaxer changes the chemical structure of my hair and last as long until my hair grows out which is 3-4 months and then of course I repeat the process again.

The only preparation that I do is leave my hair unwashed for 2-3 days as the relaxer works best on 'dirty' hair and try not to touch my scalp, any sores or abrasions that I have on my scalp will burn like a mother so that means no scratching or rubbing my scalp.

I used to get my hair relaxed at the hair dressers, however since she moved away I now order the boxes online of amazon.
Here are the contests of the kit

Olive oil Edge Control.  You place this around the hair line to protect your skin.

 Olive Oil Relaxer Base

 Activator

To create the relaxer creme you mix the base with the activator and mix it together to create a smooth paste. Then sectioning the hair into 4 parts ( two at the front and two at the back) I begin to apply the product to my roots and where ever the relaxer has grown out. It's important to only apply it to this area as you will over process your hair on pre-relaxed hair which can cause the hair to break or even fall out. The first time that you relax your hair you apply it to the whole hair, however subsequent treatments require you to only apply it to the re-growth.

Here I've applied the relaxer to my roots, avoiding the ends.

Processing time is 20-30 minutes after that it's time to rinse the hair with warm water. Using the shampoo to rinse the product of my hair. Then using the replenishing pack this works as both a conditioner and a neutralizer, it effectively neutralizes any residual chemicals that haven't been washed away with the shampoo and softens the hair. Usually I do get someone to do it for me but its just as easy to do it for myself. And now for the next 3 months or so I can enjoy relatively straight hair that wont fluff into a ball and shaves half the time it takes for me to straighten my hair!

Empties - Part 2

Here's the rest of my empties

                                                    Lash Splash Waterproof Mascara.
This was just a cheapy mascara that was discounted at a pharmacy and i'm fairly certain that they don't have them anymore. This mascara didn't do anything for me in terms of length and volume, so I used it over my mascara to waterproof them as the name suggests. Even if I could repurchase this I wouldn't it was pretty pointless to use over my mascara.

Maybeline Fit Me Concealer in 20 Sand.
A great concealer that ended up being used to highlight the bridge of my nose and under my eye. It was nice and creamy, the only downside is the packaging as you can see in the photo it's completely gone, after about 4- 5 uses the writing was coming of and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it but the product itself was great. Will be repurchasing in the future.

                                            Dusk Aromatherapy Relaxation Candle.
If you're familiar with my blog then you'll know that I absolutely LOVE this candle and can hands down say that it definitely helped me to get a better nights rest. Definitely recommend this to anyone who has troubles sleeping at night.

Essence Stay With Me Lip gloss.
Thought I would try this lip gloss out however seeing as though I don't like lip gloss this one unfortunately was no different, so whenever my little sister raided my makeup collection this was the one she reached for. It wasn't to sticky and came out quite sheer. Won't be repurchasing due to the fact that I don't like lip gloss.

                                                                      Batsie Dry Shampoo.
Received this in a Bellabox, I don't need dry shampoo for my hair has I don't have oily roots, while the smell was nice it left an awful white cast in my hair so I actually didn't finish this I just couldn't use it anymore.

Lee Stafford Treatment for Hair That Never Grows Past a Certain Length.
Wouldn't be an empties post without this baby, I go through one of these a month and I love it. It doesn't actually make you hair grow, though it does however improve your hair so that it is in an great position for growth.

So there you have it my current empties. Today I am 21! (CRAZY) and while I don't celebrate birthdays for religious reasons I was still nice enough to receive some gifts from my family and with a few extra shifts saved up some money for a lil makeup haul. So I'll post a haul soon with all of the stuff that I got!

Empties - Part 1

My empties basket is just about to over flow of empty products that I've saved to show you guys, so I've decided to break it into 2 parts.

Simple kind to skin cleansing facial wipes
                                                                     My usual wipes.

                                      Simple Radiance Brightening cleansing wipes.
I really like the Simple Kind to Skin face wipes and saw these ones and thought i'd give it a go. I have to say that I didn't enjoy this one as much, they felt drier then the other wipes and I also really disliked the smell. So I won't be repurchasing.

Savvy by DB Makeup remover wipes.
I got these wipes in the $40 gift bag from pricline and I have to say again that I didn't enjoy these wipes at all, they were very dry and again I really didn't like the smell as well.

Clean & Clear Essentials Foaming Face wash.
This face wash has lasted me for such a long time, definitely a great one to use if you are on a budget. I liked this one, and I may repurchase in the future.

                                                 Neuetorgena Alcohol - Free Toner.
I can only compare this to the Biore toner that I have however in comparison I like this one much more, it has little to no sent and wasn't too drying on my skin. I no longer use toner in my face routine however if I did I probably would go with this one again.

Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 320.
Really enjoyed this powder and I definitely will be repurchasing in the future.

                                     Makeup Academy Pro-Base Fixing Mist.
This is the fist makeup setting spray that I have ever used, I quite like it , it did its job however I absolutely hated the smell and for that reason I won't be repurchasing.

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser.
This is a nice light moisturiser as the name suggests, this is my second bottle, however I won't repurchase so that I can try out other moisturisers.

Swisspers Naturals Aloe Soothing Eye Cream.
A nice eye cream however I feel as though it did nothing for my eyes.

I'll post the second half tomorrow!

July Favourites

July for me went very fast and slow at the same time but none the less the month is gone and here is my favourites! I'll Keep this short and sweet.

Covergirl Outlast 3-in1 Foundation.
Won't say much about this foundation, you can read my previous post for my first impressions/review.

Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle and Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick 107
When I purchased the lip butter it was off ebay so unfortunately I couldn't swatch the colour for myself, I did however look at pictures online and thought this would be a really nice nude, however when I bought it and tried it on it was to light and gave me the foundation lip look which was unflattering to say the least. So it has been sitting in my lipstick stand for awhile, however I thought of mixing it with other colours to get a lighter muted colour, and my favorite lipstick to mix it with is the Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in 107 and the best way that I can describe the colour is that if you can remember the lolly redskins it looks like that, which I love. The lip butter moisturizes and gives a glossy finish to the matte lipstick.

Maybeline Color Tattoo Barley Branded.
A really nice shade to wear on it's own I however have been using it as a base, it's a slight of white colour which I'd prefer then a straight white base.

Mac Sheer tone Blusher Trace Gold.
Went to Mac with the intention of purchasing the ever popular Soft and Gentle Highlighter, however as the Mac lady kindly pointed out to me it would be unflattering and leave a grey cast to people with darker skin. So she pointed Trace Gold out to me and it is BEAUTIFUL I've never used a powder highlighter but this one is gorgeous and I've been using it everyday since I got it. ( it was really hard to swatch this one and the blusher :( ).

Mac Sheertone Blusher Ambering Rose.
I also purchased this with Trace Gold. Looking in the pan it looks quite scary and on my own I would never go near it however it's such a complementary color on my skin. It does have shimmer which I tend to avoid, However since my skin is getting under control I can get away with shimmer in check products as the shimmer doesn't highlight any imperfections.

Maybeline The falsies Mascara
Bought this one as it was on every girl's and her grandmas favorites and at the time of purchases it was 50% off at the Chemist Warehouse sale. When I looked on the packet it said volumising and I thought  CRAP. I have such short lashes I really need length over volume however this mascara does both I find after about 3-4 coats I have fuller longer lashes. However anymore coats and my lashes get stuck together and become spidery.

Favourite Tv Show Pretty Little Liars (it's always been one of my favourite tv shows, but this season is by far the best!)

I'm also thinking I may start to do my favourites bi-monthly, I find it hard to have new favuorites every 3-4 weeks

First Impressions of Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation

Iv'e had a couple of weeks to try out the new Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation and here is my review. Please read this post to see an overview of the product.

As mentioned in my New Released Makeup in Australia post this foundation claims to do three things all in one. It claims to have the power of a primer, the coverage of a concealer and the blendability of a foundation. It also has an SPF of 20. This is the first foundation that I have ever used that has an SPF in it, i'm bad I know it isn't really something I look for in a foundation however it is something I will be looking for in future foundations. I feel as though the added element of SPF not only adds protection, I feel as though it also moisturizes. Which is great for me, I don't have dry skin but after I've put my foundation on I've been getting dry patches on my forehead and on my cheeks and it has been incredibly hard to cover up. So to have this foundation that keeps my skin moisturized and patch free has been great since the weather has been cooler.

So to get a good sense of the product and to test if it does as it says, I tested all three things that it claims to do, so first of all I tested of it had the power of a primer. So this was fairly simple, I just applied the foundation without a primer. I powdered my face and also spritzed on a makeup setting spray, and at the end of the day I still had a medium coverage of foundation. So that that gets a big tick!

Next the coverage of a concealer. This foundation does a pretty good job at covering up those spots and blemishes, unfortunately for me I needed a little extra concealer on top, however it does a great job at covering up redness on the face and also redness or discoloration from pimples. So again it gets another big tick!

My Natural Skin. looks alot worse than what it actually is.

You can see that the foundation has taken some of the redness away. Apologies I didn't blend the foundation in properly I was in a rush but you get the idea.

And lastly the Blendabiliy of a Foundation. The consistency does feel a little heavier on comparison to other foundations that I own, it gives a very build able coverage from medium to full. It doesn't settle into fine lines and wrinkles. As I said before it is moisturizing and it doesn't feel heavy. So yet again another big tick!

It's pretty safe to say that I really enjoy using this foundation, and I will say its my favourite foundation to date, I will be re-purchasing. And at $19.95 it is pretty decently priced. And as a added plus this foundation doesn't leave you with a white cast so you can put the flash on your camera and not look like a ghost!

June Favourites

Hello everyone! Today is my first Favourites Post, I thought I would include beauty and non-beauty products in this so lets get straight to it!

Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. RRP  $26.95
At the recommendation of Carli Bybel a beauty vlogger I went out and purchased this mascara. Now yes, I'm looking at the price tag and thinking that is a very pricey drug store mascara! At the time of purchase it was on special, I don't remember how much but I certainly didn't spend the full price for it. I have to compare this mascara to the Benefit They're Real Mascara in terms of the brush. It's a firmer plastic brush similar to the Benefit mascara however it's about half the width, so you do have to work at it a little more but the results are worth it. For me personally I like a mascara the lengthens as opposed to volumises as my lashes are so short a volumising mascara really doesn't do much for me. There's 4 sections of short firm bristles, as you pull the wand out of the tube the mascara gets caught between each section and as you work it through your lashes you can see the how much mascara is left on the brush. I though that was particularly clever. Since the bristles are firmer it evenly coats each lash and doesn't give your eyelashes that spidery effect.

L-R Benefit They're Real, Loreal Telescopic

Stilla In the light eye shadow Palette. RRP $39.50
I am yet to do a separate post on this but this truly is my favourite palette out of my whole collection and here's why, It's a great basic nude palette, it's got a great colour range that can take you from a classic nude look to a more dramatic smokey look. The quality of stilla eye shadow's are unbeatable in comparison with my Urban Decay palette the shadow's feel alot softer. You've also got stilla's famous Kitten shade in it, I can see why this eye shadow has such hype behind it.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub RRP $9.95
This has been the first winter were I have had chap free lips. This scrub isn't to harsh it doesn't pull and tug at  your lips and it also has a moisturisinng quality to it to, so your lips don't feel incredibly dry even after you've washed or licked the product of. It's so easy to over look the health of your lips and this product has been a  gem during the cooler months.

Looks like it's time for a new one

MUA Bronzed Perfection £3.00
Since purchasing Benefit Hoola Bronzer my Makeup academy bronzer has been seriously neglected, not to mention that it managed to smash for a second time! However I've come back to this bronzer. The quality and the price is uneatable, i'm so glad I found this, it's a bronzer everyone should check out.

Lush A Million Kisses Lip Tint
I can't find the price for this but i'm pretty sure it was $9.95. I would have completely over looked this in the shop had my sister not taken her sweet time mopping about. First of all it's vegan and cruelty free, the smell is amazing and I would have to say its more of a stain then a balm. I have to apply this with a brush as it stains my fingers. Super pigmented and moisturizing and creamy. Ticks all the boxes doesn't it? When I want some colour on my lips this is what I go to. I'll definitely be going back to purchase more and I encourage you guys to check them out.

And now onto Non-Beauty related Items.

Simpsons Tapped out RRP FREE
I'm not one for games, I get bored of them to easily but this one for some reason has me hooked. Since I downloaded it I literally have been playing it EVERDAY! In a nut shell homer has managed to blow up Springfield and it is his job to not only clean up Springfield but to rebuild it too, one house and shop at a time. At each level  you get new decorations buildings and you get to unlock all of the Springfield characters. You also have specific task for each character my favourite task is to comb Snakes bitchin' hair.

Dusk Aromatherapy Relaxation Candle $14
You know how much I love this candle, I've already done a separate post on it. Nothing un-winds and relaxes me better than this. When this is burning before I sleep I can guarantee myself a great nights sleep. Recommend this candle to everyone.

Valley Girls Skinny Jeans RRP $14.95
I bought a maroon and Black pair and the beginning of the month and I wear them nearly everyday, So I went back and picked up another 2 pants in a Dark Blue and Khaki colour. There comfortable, affordable and they come in a variety of colours.
